GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: The Sleep, Cognition and Neuropsychiatry (SCAN) Lab in the Department of Psychiatry at MGH is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) with an expected start date of January 2025. The CRC will assist with ongoing studies investigating the neural basis and nature of cognitive deficits in neuropsychiatric disorders. The primary line of investigation focuses on the contribution of abnormal sleep to impaired memory consolidation in schizophrenia and autism. The CRC will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research fellows, lab mates, and collaborators on all aspects of the research projects. The techniques employed include polysomnography (sleep electroencephalography), electroencephalography (EEG), and functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Training in data acquisition and analysis will be provided. A mentored research project is encouraged. The candidate must be mature and responsible with excellent organizational, interpersonal as well as oral and written communication skills. They must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, juggle and prioritize multiple tasks, feel comfortable working with clinical and non-clinical study populations, work effectively as part of a team, and seek assistance when appropriate. Additionally, the candidate must have a flexible schedule and be willing to conduct overnight sleep studies. A two-year commitment is preferred. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Recruit, assess, and schedule subjects for participation - Coordinate and support home-based sleep studies using wearable EEG devices - Conduct MRI scanning studies - Maintain subject information database using REDCap or other data capture programs - Perform quality assurance checks on databases and oversee data integrity - Assist with data processing and analysis, and manuscript preparation - Perform administrative support duties as required - Supervise undergraduate research assistants SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details - Technical aptitude and comfort with troubleshooting - Excellent knowledge of computerized data processing (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases) - Strong interpersonal skills required for interaction with study subjects and laboratory members - Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs

EDUCATION: - Bachelor's degree required. Knowledge of psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and/or neurobiology is preferred. EXPERIENCE: - Research and/or EEG experience is desirable; familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems, Matlab, and/or some programing experience is an asset.
