Job Description

This position will reside in Kansas City as a regional representative for Mizzou's Office of Admissions. The position serves as a member of the Admissions Team, managing the assigned recruitment territory to assist in achieving enrollment goals for Mizzou. They will serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents and guidance counselors from Kansas City area. This position will establish and maintain an off-site recruitment office designed to plan, execute and evaluate recruitment activities and high school relations within the assigned territory. They will inform and assist prospective students about the University of Missouri (MIZZOU), academic programs, admission requirements, costs and all facets of attending Mizzou. This includes high school visits and college fairs, answering letters of inquiry from prospective students and maintaining constant personal communication with Kansas City area students, parents and high school counselors. This position requires a home-based office and should not be considered an 8-5 job, it requires nights and weekends on a flexible schedule.

  • Inform and assist prospective students and their parents about Mizzou's academic programs, college planning and admissions requirements. This includes on-campus and off-campus visits and events. Answering emails and letters of inquiry from prospective students. Presenting admission sessions to groups ranging from 2-200 people.
  • Develops recruitment strategy for assigned territory, including reviewing and analyzing data to determine schools, fairs, and events to attend/visit; evaluates the effectiveness of recruitment strategies in the specified territory and determines need for additional efforts. Initiates, plans, and executes special projects in conjunction with territory goals and objectives. Builds and maintains relationships and serves as University liaison to high school counselors and alumni in territory. Schedules visits to high schools, coordinates pre-visit calls and correspondence, makes travel arrangements, conducts visits, and follows up with students, faculty, and staff contacted during visits via phone calls, letters, and email.
  • Follow-up correspondence communications. Intense personal contact with prospective high school students through email, phone and letters. Representative will keep contact with admitted Kansas City area students. This position will provide special counseling regarding admission and scholarship selection policies.
  • Heaviest times August-December and February-May.
  • Travel to Mizzou's campus for large recruitment events (for example Saturday Meet Mizzou Days) and training sessions.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain knowledge of current information on degree programs, residential life and financial aid issues.
  • Other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Shift

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with extensive evening and weekend hours required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong consideration is given to applicants who have Admissions or recruitment experience. Consideration is also given to those with an undergraduate degree from Mizzou. Initiative, creativity and the ability to work in a flexible environment. High energy and enthusiasm.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $23.00-$27.00 hourly

Grade: GGS-008
