Job Summary
Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards in the area of planning and directing activities concerned with auditing the application, and maintenance of supplier quality standards.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems requiring independent judgment and ingenuity to modify standards and procedures relative to planning and directing activities concerned with application, and maintenance of supplier quality standards. Management applies general guidance related to resolution of complex problems and outcomes.
- Assess the systems that suppliers have in place to guarantee quality products, complete onsite reviews of supplier processes, identify and promote areas of good practice, and make sure suppliers have appropriate procedures in place to remedy any identified nonconformance.
- Monitor identified critical quality factors and track and analyze key performance measures. Conduct supplier risk assessments, publish monthly and quarterly supplier performance reports, and conduct review meetings with the Supplier Quality team. Communicate with internal clients on supplier issues and make recommendations when corrective action is needed.
- Ensure NORDAM suppliers are in compliance with all FAA requirements and are audit ready. Escalate any issues to the Supplier Quality management team so appropriate measures, including potentially assigning an onsite surveillance specialist if needed, can be taken. Provide suppliers with timely, complete and accurate reports of their current level of compliance.
- Coordinate NORDAM supplier certification program for assigned group of suppliers. Ensure suppliers are effectively trained and are continuously reviewed and held accountable to NORDAM's established standards and expectations.
- Ensure supplier compliance to NORDAM's Supplier Quality Manual.
- Prepare detailed audit programs for use in performing supplier audits, including tests of controls and substantive testing to assess and/or evaluate supplier quality systems.
- Prepare audit work papers according to established company guidelines and industry standards and present audit findings or other relevant information to Supplier Quality Management.
- Document results of new procedures after implementation to show quality improvements.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment. |
Minimum Qualifications |
Education Requirements
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Preferred Other. Auditor Training Certification on ISO 9001 or AS9100. If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.Experience Requirements 6 year(s) Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to include effective, persuasive communication style while maintaining and building good relationships with suppliers; must be both professional and assertive in manner to ensure the supplier's perspective is considered while ensuring NORDAM's best interest.
- Ability to present data in a visually and orally succinct manner.
- Ability to deal with difficult suppliers and to identify potential risks or errors.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and keep projects on track.
- High level of organization and the ability to handle multiple time sensitive deadlines.
- Sound working knowledge of computer systems and applications and competent in the use of standard software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Some working knowledge of Access is preferred or desirable.
- Works well in a Team or independently.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
