The primary objective of this role is to offer essential assistance for applied research and dynamic outreach and educational efforts led by Cooperative Extension, guided by Dr. Bindu Poudel-Ward, with a focus on vegetable Crops and plant disease diagnostic clinic. This involves a variety of tasks, including coordinating experiments, contributing to the design and implementation of laboratory/field research, supervising technical staff, conducting educational programs, and teaching various stakeholders,and preparation of reports and manuscripts. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Coordinate, design and assist with laboratory and field research, and maintain detailed records of research activities and data collected.
- Collaborate with the Plant Pathologist laboratory/diagnostic clinic to identify and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and responsibilities. This also involves engaging with the Yuma Agricultural Center to secure the necessary services for achieving our research and Extension goals.
- Collaborate closely with technicians to coordinate teamwork, communication, and productivity among research technicians, students, and volunteers, aiming to achieve research and extension objectives while offering guidance and support as required.
- Develop and deliver educational programs for IPM target audiences using diverse methods and media. This includes organizing workshops, training sessions, and field days to disseminate research-based information to stakeholders.
- Help Plant Pathologist with reporting the field trial data in forms of newsletters, journal articles etc.

- Desire and capability of working with diverse stakeholders and volunteers, self-confidence and self-efficacy, good time management, good judgment and sensitivity while working with peers and community members alike.
- The ability to travel as appropriate to meet stakeholder needs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
