This 17-bed true Medical Surgical unit (P4C) is adding clinical talent to their thriving team. This unit provides care for adult surgical patients including surgical specialties in joints, vascular, bariatric, minor neurological and gastrointestinal populations. Also provides care to medical overflow. The nursing team has worked to create an environment that supports learning, teamwork, and excellent patient care. P4C creates welcomes new graduates as well as experienced nurses and values what each care team member has to offer. To be part of the nursing group on this unit a candidate must be focused on outstanding patient care, team communication, and their drive to excel not only a member of our organization, but also as an individual. This unit consists of new graduates who are stepping into their first positions as nurses, as well as seasoned RNs possessing decades of professionalism in this field. The diversity and inclusion of experience, skillsets, and backgrounds on this unit offers unending learning opportunities every day to those who have chosen to join this team. All new graduate RNs hired into regular status positions are automatically enrolled in our Residency program in conjunction with their unit based employment. Summary: The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family centered care, commitment to our community, and accountability. In accordance with national standards of nursing practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of nursing care. Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum.
