PURPOSE OF THE JOB

With the expanded requirements of mandatory sustainability reporting throughout the world, including the EU CSRD and Taxonomy and the California Climate legislation, Owens Corning needs to expand our ability to track and report sustainability information. This requires a transition to new sustainability reporting platforms as well as automation and digitization of sustainability information to drive internal accountability and measurement. The Sustainability Digitization Lead will be focused on the management of the Sustainability reporting systems integration. The Digitization Lead will partner across the organization to further integrate sustainability into the daily actions of our employees, while ensuring we are prepared for mandatory reporting requirements globally. The role will entail understanding the existing internal reporting from our current systems, understanding the needs of our business partners and the sustainability organization, and becoming an expert on our systems and fully utilizing their capabilities.

The Sustainability Digitization Lead must be able not only to design processes but also to present communicate them to leaders within the organization and to disseminate them throughout the company in a meaningful way. This individual must be able to engage both internal and external stakeholders.

Location: Granville Science & Technology or Toledo World Headquarters; open to remote working arrangement as well


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute global sustainability disclosure and reporting system development and process improvement



  • Assist in the development of a data governance process while developing and maintaining the rollout of a centralized, global, company-wide management system
  • Review existing Resource Advisor tool to understand what works well and what doesn't work
  • Create Business Requirements document based on needs of the business and the sustainability department
  • Partner with software suppliers to learn system capabilities
  • Partner with Mandatory Disclosure and Reporting leader to develop project timeline, RACI, Resource Plan, Project Stakeholder Communications plan, etc. for integration and automation. Create and Lead Change Management plan
  • Team with Sustainability Technical Integration Analyst to ensure IT integration follows project timeline
  • Support customer sustainability and compliance inquiries as it relates to sustainability compliance
  • Assist in the design and implementation of controls over ESG reporting through our software solutions
  • Design and conduct training and user onboarding - develop ongoing process; in addition design and creation process for Stakeholder Education beyond user training
  • Update governing body steering team on progress for integration
  • Design methodology for obtaining user feedback and system for responding and evaluating suggestions
  • Create process standards that align with OC internal controls and sustainability governance structure
  • Lead build kickoff meeting
  • Lead user acceptance testing



Sustainability Reporting - Lead Horizontally Across the Company.



  • Develop and deploy relevant training and communications for company executives, leaders and employees
  • Provide expert knowledge in system capabilities across the organization.
  • Develop education and training materials
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure we provide actionable sustainability information


  • Work with Mandatory Disclosure and Reporting leader to develop rigorous and auditable data quality and control programs including detailed documentation.
  • Work to expand automation/digitization of sustainability information to and from our external sustainability data system and into the businesses to provide consistent sustainability insights and reduce manual effort.
  • Maintain or develop knowledge of voluntary reports while understand reporting frameworks



Thought Leadership In the Market.



  • Develop key relationships with other companies to share best practices and learning while ensuring these practices are implemented
  • Maintain and share expertise through benchmarking, market research, conferences and committees and other sources of learning.
  • Represent Owens Corning at conferences and other external engagements


DESIRED EXPERIENCES

Minimum Qualifications



  • 2-5 years of experience in a business analyst, IT, environmental, operations, or Sustainability/ESG analyst role
  • Bachelors' degree (or higher) in mathematics, engineering, science, or sustainability, or a related field that supports this position
  • Passion for sustainability, climate action, human rights, and other principles of ESG
  • Able to travel 10-20% to plant locations, conferences, etc.
  • Experience with financial, sustainability, or other forms of voluntary or mandatory external reporting, or detailed data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with influential or indirect leadership, directing or persuading others who are not direct reports



KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES




  • Ability to accumulate, organize and manipulate quantitative data to identify and explain trends, problems and their causes. The ability to compare, contrast and combine information to determine underlying issues
  • Ability to partner effectively with business leaders and gain alignment of objectives and system requirements
  • Effective and proactive communicator with stakeholders at all levels combined with the ability to work with colleagues across various geographies; successfully sets and manages expectations; strong organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time across multiple project areas and deliverable, and ability to execute tasks independently.
  • Organized, deliberate, and reliable in structuring work, and effective problem solver. Experience in working on cross-functional and multi-department enterprise-wide projects.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management, time management, juggling priorities, being accountable to various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage medium to large scale, cross-functional projects involving global processes, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Experience in generating requirements and/or user stories to successfully communicate business needs.
  • High level of personal integrity to be able to maintain the company's compliance and address identified deficiencies
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into understandable and manageable programs
  • Knowledge of the principles behind corporate sustainability, environmental best practices, policies, compliance, and regulations
