CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Master Production Planning

  • Develop and execute strategies to effectively control working capital finished goods inventory dollars through improved planning and operations asset optimization.
  • Drive systems optimization to ensure the Enterprise Planning System is effectively planning Industrial Production at accuracy rates that exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Demand Planning team to drive improvements in the EPS plan and ensure continued collaboration at all levels of the department/groups.

Outside Buy Management

  • Improve the accuracy of the forecasts of the demand for finished goods in order to improve customer satisfaction, sales, profitability and overall supply chain effectiveness. Communicate the forecasts to the Global Sourcing team in order to support a flash process that accurately predicts capacity opportunities.
  • Manage the business defined processes for collaboration with the Sales teams (IBP, S&OP, other). These processes provide a forum to gather critical information to contribute to an executable plan that considers both service and cost.
  • Ensure alignment with GSC and PCG on outside buy strategies to balance Cost, Asset Utilization, and Service

Sourcing and Long Range Capacity Planning (LRCP)

  • Lead the Global Supply Chain efforts to plan the efficient use of our current Manufacturing and Distribution assets both tactically and strategically.
  • Source products between regions considering both freight costs and capacity.
  • Provide input for long range resource planning for NA distribution and Manufacturing, using data science for Capex planning and system needs to support GSC initiatives.
  • Provide Supply Chain Integration analysis, sourcing, and inventory management, while representing Supply Chain at acquisition related meetings and ensure timely communications back to the organization.

Talent Development

  • Lead employee development to increase both individual and team performance as well as to ensure a viable and effective succession planning process.
  • Enable support and train team members to utilize internal career development resources to define career paths within Sherwin-Williams and support their development needs as a means to expand skills, drive engagement, and secure succession plans for key positions as it aligns with Create Your Possible
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and diversity within the organization that enables team members at all levels to actively share and participate in defining the evolution of the department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics
  • MBA and / or APICS certification
  • Six Sigma / Lean certification of green belt or higher

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 7 or more years of experience in the Supply Chain field including at least 3 years in a manager or supervisory capacity

Preferred:

  • Experience in all facets of Supply Planning including, Supply, Demand, Inventory Management, and Product Sourcing optimization.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple complex projects, concurrently.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective selection, training, motivation & management of a highly effective workforce
  • Implementing & managing change and transition into productive results
  • Fostering a positive environment by creatively motivating workforce
  • Complying with numerous customer, operational, financial and regulatory requirement changes and demands
  • Establishing a solid grasp of activities, requirements and needs of multiple Divisions and diverse business market segments.
  • Working with Operations Teams to optimize Site efficiency through effective production planning and communications
  • Deep understanding of planning tools and the ability to increase the utilization of these tools to drive improvements in Asset Utilization, Working Capital, and Service.

Preferred:

  • Procurement, Commercial, or Manufacturing experience within the coatings industry is preferred.
