What you will do

You will initiate, develop, manage, and control field projects for Silent-Aire customer(s) while ensuring project success and building customer relationships. You will work in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager for the Mission Critical Services (MCS) team to ensure program success and will be savvy in terms of technology, business practices, and have significant experience in the project management field.

How you will do it

  • Manage a team of Project Coordinators to ensure program goals are met.

  • Act as the primary on-site leader for field implementation on assigned projects. Develop project schedules and executes according to plan.

  • Evaluate the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes.

  • Perform associated cost estimates, prepares proposals, and negotiates final settlement price and customer acceptance.

  • Manage project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client and maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow.

  • Oversee change management processes.

  • Review and understand contract Terms and Conditions.

  • Analyze project schedules to proactively address potential problems.

  • Effectively communicate project progress and potential issues to management as required.

  • Utilize Microsoft Project to execute and evaluate job progress and risks.

  • Manage risks and establishes project recovery plans when required. Resolves disputes with minimal need for escalation.

  • Assist with negotiating, preparing, and issuing subcontracts when needed.

  • Ensure project document controls follow contract requirements and Silent-Aire standards.

  • Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques.

  • Manage the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.

  • Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors. Attend job progress meetings as required ensuring that Silent Aire teams understand expectations of the project.

  • Coordinate with the Regional Project Coordinators and Regional Managers for allocation of resources needed to meet project objectives.

  • Ensure any engineering and commissioning performed by the field team is in accordance with established standards. Facilitate escalation of product related problems.

  • Assist Program Manager with internal development/improvement efforts.

  • Review and verify all Customer Experience (Cx) project requirements completed by regional Project Coordinators.

  • Create processes to ensure proper tracking to ensure quality of work is maintained to a high standard (Quality Control).

  • Follow department standards and procedures.

  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills, team building skills and the ability to supervise and motivate effectively.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

  • University or College degree in either business or engineering is required

  • 5+ years of direct work experience in project management

  • Construction site experience

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods

  • Intuitive grasp of organizational structure to manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation

  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills

  • Superb creation and facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings to create consensus among stakeholders

  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, technical professionals, and upper management

  • Strong knowledge of Internet technologies and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

  • Ability to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders

  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Ability to work on construction worksites may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Up to 75% travel domestically to customers sites

Preferred:

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP)

  • Experience with MS Project

  • Previous experience in QA/QC
