We are actively looking for a Proposal Manager to join our Marketing team located near one of our East Coast offices. As part of the Marketing Group, the Proposal Manager prepares a wide variety of strategic proposals, qualifications statements, presentations, and other sales support materials to secure work for the firm.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage all internal functions of the proposal process, including reviewing and analyzing the RFQ/RFP requirements and completing internal sales process forms to help develop strategic responses that meet our clients' needs; all while taking an ownership stake in the process and document
  • Coordinate technical, graphics, legal, compliance, human resources, and other assets necessary to prepare a compliance and compelling document
  • Provide leadership in the sales process, working with multi-disciplined teams comprised of personnel from levels of the firm from across the country and international offices
  • Schedule, support, and lead sales process meetings
  • Edit existing content and create new compelling writing to effectively communicate the firm's sales messages, capabilities, and differentiators in compliant, persuasive, consistent, grammatically correct, and visually stimulating documents. Research and identify existing content that can be utilized to efficiently prepare our response, particularly for our technical responses (project approach, understanding, etc.)
  • Coordinate with teaming partners to secure data, resumes, project descriptions, or other narratives to respond to proposal requirements
  • Provide mid-level graphic design/desktop publishing, and provide creative direction for graphic designers, including organization charts, maps, flow charts, infographics, and matrices, in consultation with graphic designers
  • Manage the review and recovery process to finalize and produce the proposal, including on-time delivery
  • Participate in or provide leadership for Marketing Department Initiatives to enhance the group's abilities and value to the firm
  • Work with and mentor marketing coordinators, as needed
  • Be prepared to jump in where needed to help other in the group, perform services outside the proposal process as needed, and react quickly to changing needs
  • Work to update Moffatt & Nichol's Deltek database and marketing group library to further streamline the proposal process
  • Thrive in a deadline-driven, often short-fuse environment
  • Participate in longer-term strategic initiatives and pursuit meetings
  • Conduct appropriate internal/external research and respond to internal requests for information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in, marketing, business, engineering or other related discipline; required
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in the proposal presentation, coaching, and related marketing tasks in the infrastructure engineering, architecture, or construction industries; required
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign), Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; required
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be organized, able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects, and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Work in a flexible schedule (nights/weekends as needed), sometimes on short notice, ability to travel as needed
  • Excellent grammar/written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and lead a wide variety of personalities in a fast-paced environment
