Georgia-Pacific is recruiting for an electronics hardware engineer role at our Neenah Technical Center (NTC). NTC, located in Neenah, WI, is the site for research, development, and lab services for Georgia-Pacific's North American Consumer Products business. Our consumer brands are household names throughout North America which include Quilted Northern and Angel Soft bath tissue, Brawny paper towels, Dixie plates and bowls. We also produce Professional brands such as enMotion towels and dispensers and SmartStock cutlery dispensers for commercial markets. Many of the store-brands at your favorite retailers are our products too! This individual will work with a team to develop engineering requirements and document specifications. They will also design embedded electrical or electromechanical systems and bring them to market through our commercialization process working with external manufacturer partners. This individual will also take on a broad range of responsibilities in a hands-on role working with embedded systems. This will include circuit board troubleshooting and rework, wire harness creation, and working with mechanical engineering to design solutions that fulfill our customers' needs. A "day in the life" would entail developing analog and digital circuits to experiment with new concepts or technologies, designing electrical schematics and PCB layouts with Altium Designer, creating documentation for manufacturing, as well as building and testing prototypes. What You Will Do * Innovation: Use your creativity to develop new solutions as customers' needs change and technology improves. Actively drive process improvement and encourage the team to adapt as best practices change. * Technical Support: Assist our manufacturing partners to launch new designs as well as any post-launch design changes. Create test plans and assist the test lab with verification and validation testing. * Collaboration: Work with a cross-functional team to design solutions for our customers utilizing our agile design process. Working with the firmware team to develop a test strategy and with mechanical engineering to create an electromechanical system. Communicating the technical details of manufacturing test with our partners who produce our designs. * Entrepreneurship: Take ownership of the electrical design of a project and testing strategy. Drive improvements in our design processes. Proactively apply the company risk philosophy. * Leadership: Organize and lead the manufacturing startup of your designs. Mentor and train the junior engineers on the team. * Career Development: You will be working with a lot of technical people and will have the ability to take on new roles as you identify needs within the group where new ideas are always welcome. Your skills and strengths can also be matched to other high value projects. You are only limited by your own initiative. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * 3 years in an electrical engineering role * Knowledge of embedded systems, motor controls, power supplies, and low power electronics. * Schematic design and PCB layout using ECAD software. * Experience with electronics troubleshooting techniques and tools. * Experience with electronics manufacturing processes. What Will Put You Ahead * 5+ years in an electrical engineering role designing embedded systems * Circuit board rework experience * Ability to diagnose issues in electromechanical systems while using various meters, DC power analyzer, oscilloscope, etc. * Experience in a role with minimal supervision and being a motivated self-starter. * Experience in test development utilizing scripting, Labview, or C. * Solidworks experience At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
