GFRP Research Assistant

Since 1966, researchers at the Carolina Population Center have pioneered data collection and research techniques that move population science forward by emphasizing life course approaches, longitudinal surveys, the integration of biological measurement into social surveys, and attention to context and environment. We are also at the forefront of creating interdisciplinary training programs that integrate approaches from the social and biological sciences, building research capacity and training the next generation of scholars. Our faculty fellows address pressing research questions about population dynamics, fertility, health, mortality, migration, and the environment. This position will join conduct research about content analysis of food marketing images on food packages in the Global Food Research Program ( GFRP). This person will also contribute to other ongoing research with the Food Labeling And Marketing Evaluation ( FLAME) project. The project team members will analyze prevalence and characteristics of nutrition-related claims and health-related claims on the front of food packages in various countries. The individual will code and analyze images and draft a manuscript to submit to peer review journal based on this research. The individual will also lead a presentation of findings to the GFRP team and their research collaborators.

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Experience with nutrition science research.

* Research experience with consumer responses to front-of-package labeling ( FOPL).
* Research experience with content analysis of marketing and front-of-package labeling.
