About the role:

This role involves supporting the configuration, ingestion, and management of structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories to meet mission partner requirements. The selected Data Engineers will work with big data systems, ETL processes, cloud environments, and security compliance while ensuring the overall health and efficiency of data-driven solutions. This role is contingent on contract award.

What we are looking for:



  • 5-7 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of experience with a master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working with big data systems, including Apache Spark and Databricks
  • Hands-on experience with ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or MilCloud 2.0
  • Understanding of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and automation of security compliance processes
  • Proficiency in multiple coding languages


Major Duties/Tasks:



  • Support the configuration and ingestion of structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories to meet mission partner needs and enhance data analytics capabilities
  • Maintain operational aspects of data transfers while ensuring the security posture of underlying infrastructure, systems, and applications, and monitor system health through tracking tools
  • Automate configuration management, leverage modern tools, and stay current on ETL technologies and services
  • Work under general guidance, taking initiative to develop solutions independently, review architecture, and identify areas for automation, optimization, right-sizing, and cost reduction
  • Apply expertise in data engineering technologies and services, database structuring, cloud architectures, and cloud environment maintenance using vendor consoles
  • Collaborate with multiple functional groups to understand client challenges, prototype new ideas, implement innovative solutions, and design, test, and deploy full features and components
  • Maintain an existing collection of web scraping tools used in the ETL process
  • Identify and implement scalable and efficient coding solutions to enhance data processing performance


Clearance Requirements:



  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance


Salary Range:



  • $120,000 - $150,000
  • The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities

  • May require up to 10% travel
