Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, improve lives. The School's curriculum supports the mission and recognizes the uniqueness of the region served, including concerns for disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families and communities. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues.
Position Summary
Cares is one of several community engaged programs within the UNC School of Social Work. The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, and improve lives. Cares provides education, community engagement, systems capacity building, and policy analysis across the state in order to empower vulnerable adults and their families to experience choice and dignity in their lives.

This is a 1-year, 32 hours per week (.80 FTE) , time limited position that will be part of a productive community engaged research team and will work across multiple projects. Although this is a year-long position, there is the possibility of the position being extended based on funding.

The Project Coordinator's responsibilities include supporting community engagement projects by assisting in the planning and execution of initiatives that contribute to backbone and steering teams, as well as multi-stakeholder coalitions as needed. This includes adapting resources for specific projects and audiences and participating in the process of identifying and developing shared measurements under the direction of senior staff.

Additional responsibilities involve developing curriculum and educational modules by conducting research on educational topics, exploring best practices and literature in the field, and writing and designing educational materials that adhere to instructional design best practices with guidance from senior staff. Materials should be tailored for diverse audiences, focusing on meeting the needs of specific groups. The Project Coordinator will also participate in delivering education through presentations and training sessions while supporting the creation of online, on-demand, hybrid, and in-person training materials.
The Project Coordinator will support strategic planning and operations for UNC Cares by planning and organizing project work plans within established deadlines, contributing to the preparation of project update reports, and supporting Cares' mission within the School of Social Work, the University, and with partner organizations.

Responsibilities also include assisting in evaluating processes and outcomes by supporting the development and implementation of evaluation tools and strategies, assisting in data collection and analysis while ensuring accuracy and integrity, and participating in project evaluations. This includes administrative tasks and contributing to the development of publications, reports, and related products.
Finally, the Project Coordinator will participate in outreach and communication efforts for Cares and its sponsors by creating and posting social media content, developing educational and outreach materials, and updating website content.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

* Previous work experience related to community engagement and cross sector collaboration.
* Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction with considerable initiative.
* Experience in curriculum development and training.
* Experience in project management including demonstrated experience using project management tools.
* Experience using Microsoft office suite products.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Experience in meeting facilitation.
* Demonstrated familiarity and experience of work with programs or projects related to the Americans with Disabilities Act and Olmstead Decision.
* Demonstrated ability to produce outreach materials in Canva.
* Experience working with stakeholders that serve older adults or people with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Experience with federally funded projects.
* Experience with institutional review board applications.
* Experience with support of primary data collection with a variety of study populations.
* Experience working with an interdisciplinary team.
* Experience in human services program policy and/or practice.
