Extrusion Technician I / Machine Operator
Day Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm$22.55 per hour

Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Extrusion Technician. Reporting to the manufacturing shift lead, you will be responsible for the extrusion of quality polyethylene products through extrusion line set-up, start-up, operation and take down in accordance with Atkore policies and procedures. You will be committed to teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, quality, and delivery.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with shift leader to plan and ensure efficient work completion.
- Follow all safety requirements and company guidelines.
- Complete extrusion line changeovers within designated timeframes.
- Maintain extrusion tooling quality and organization.
- Set up and change print lines to meet order requirements.
- Perform quality checks and documentation per ASTM standards.
- Adjust product specifications to ensure quality.
- Complete paperwork for accurate inventory information.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area.
- Assist other technicians in start-ups as needed.
- Work effectively with diverse individuals.
- Identify and report problems; utilize resources to solve issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2 years of experience in a production environment.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Within 3 months you'll:
- Complete all required training to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed for your role.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Safety and PPE: Due to the presence of moving mechanical parts, high temperatures, and potential exposure to hazardous materials, safety is a top priority. Workers must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as reflective vests, safety glasses, earplugs, cut-resistant gloves, and safety toe boot
Physical Activity: Workers are frequently required to perform repetitive hand and arm motions, and there are prolonged periods of standing and sitting. Tasks may involve walking, talking, listening, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Manual Dexterity and Coordination: The job often requires fine motor skills and good hand-eye coordination, especially when handling equipment or performing quality checks.
Noise Levels: The noise level is usually moderate to high, with machinery and equipment operating continuously. Ear protection is often required to mitigate the impact of prolonged exposure to loud sounds.
- Exposure to Elements: While primarily indoors, workers might occasionally be exposed to extreme conditions like heat, cold, humidity, and airborne particles; temperatures vary depending on the season.
