About the Role The Senior Commercial Adviser will screen target markets/geographies to identify and create opportunities to access discovered oil & gas resources (DRO) by using your commercial acumen and leveraging your existing network. This role will report to the General Manager Commercial - Atlantic and will work primarily with the DRO-Business Development team. The role is based in Houston, Texas.Travel requirement is expected to be up to 25% (mostly international). Duties & Responsibilities
Screen target markets/geographies to identify and create opportunities to access discovered oil and gas resources by using your commercial acumen and leveraging existing network
Add value through the development of innovative commercial ideas or structures and evaluation of potential partnering strategies. Lead implementation and integration of such opportunities across multiple disciplines and functions.
Lead negotiations of the required commercial agreements
Manage existing and grow new relationships with Exploration & Production companies from supermajors to small caps to unlock commercial discovered resource opportunities
Gather intelligence from your network, multiple industry sources and events - you will have heard the news before it is on IHS or WoodMac!
Provide commercial peer assist or direct support to ongoing business opportunities as may be required.
Skills & Experience
Experience:Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry with a focus on commercial and related activities. Proven track record of delivery of business development opportunities and successful negotiations e.g., via executed agreements. Deep network of industry contacts (upstream E&P, banks etc.) with a finger on the pulse of E&P activity and associated M&A, farm-in/out activity. Commercial experience structuring transactions or development concepts with upstream E&P companies and governments, ideally in multiple countries
Skills:Business mindset with a focus on generating returns, with demonstrated analytical, negotiation, strategic thinking, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and a strong ability to build relationships and participate in industry forums and events.
Knowledge:In-depth understanding of the oil, gas and LNG industry, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and emerging trends. Strong commercial acumen and economic analysis, combined with thorough understanding of upstream value chains, business risk and value drivers. Familiar with different types of deal structure and commercial models, plus associated commercial agreements
Strategic thinker: with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in leading and mentoring diverse teams. Ability to coach, inspire and motivate team members to achieve high performance in a global context.
