Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
* Compares product with BOM, internal order, drawings, and other Engineering documentation.
* Responsible for inspecting or checking raw materials, purchase parts, manufactured parts, assemblies,
etc.
* Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.
* Record product, component, and/or assembly non-conformance on inspection reports, hold tags, scrap
tags, etc.
* Files and maintains quality control records such as sales orders, inspection reports, etc.
* Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to
determine quality and reliability standards.* Reports non-conformance to supervisor and/or plant manager
* Maintain a clean and orderly area, to include removal of scrap and waste
* Fills out requisitions forms for needed inspection items.
* Verifies service parts meet engineering requirements.
* Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform job such as gages.
* Verify quality of work in process as needed.
* Requires good knowledge of product, parts, material, tools and procedures.
* Quality orientation and attention to detail.
* Problem analysis and problem resolution.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* High performance teams and a strong team player.
* Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma, GED, or combination of education, technical training and experience in
    manufacturing and quality.
  • Three years applicable experience related to testing and inspection is required per CFR 49 171.8.
  • Must be an experienced welder and able to effectively inspect welds and to understand and locate weld defects.


SKILLS:

* Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any
task.
* Basic computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and
PowerPoint.
* Some understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes/procedures.
* Knowledge of materials, parts, tools, equipment, procedures and the manufacturing
process.
* Oral and written communication skills.
* Understanding of problem analysis and resolution.
* Strong team player.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas were certain
areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and
mandatory hearing protection.
* Must be physically able to climb on top of, inside of, and under trailers.
* Must possess 20-40- corrected vision or better without color vision problems (Required per AWS
QC1-96 6.1).
* Sit or stand as needed
* Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
* Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to reach documents or
store materials throughout the workday.
* Proper lifting techniques required.

procedures while supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and recognize the Company's

waste disposal procedures.
