Summary:

The Director of Development leads Mid Coast Hospital's efforts to secure gift commitments from the community in support of our institutional priorities. This person is responsible for donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, and Foundation Grants programs. The Director develops and implements strategic plans for each of these programs; oversees the identification and assignment of all gift prospects under management and serves as the planned giving expert for the Mid CoastHospital, overseeing all facets of donor relations and cultivation, development of marketing materials to promote various ways of giving; building of relationships with professional advisors in the community; and understanding of innovative gift strategies and pertinent legal and taxation regulations pertaining to charitable giving. Responsibilities include identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and potential major gift donors. In collaboration with the Foundation Board of Trustees, the Development Director works to develop relationships with current and prospective Mid Coast Hospital Foundation donors. The Development Manager connects generous people with this organization and works with them to secure the financial resources necessary for MHF to achieve its mission.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required; CFRE or other philanthropy-related professional development preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Significant experience in fundraising and philanthropy.
