The Financial Analyst will work with leadership, project managers, and business development to ensure company, program, and proposal success. (read: exposure to many different areas of the business!) This teammate will report to the VP of Finance & Accounting and be an integral part of the team that helps make our internal customers' jobs easier so they can focus on delivering to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for various financial functions for multiple projects across our portfolio such as: budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, accruing direct cost, project setup, and variance analysis/reporting (both internally and externally).
- Develop, analyze, and brief pricing of contract growth opportunities. Work with program management staff to develop compliant pricing. Briefs leadership and ensures appropriate approval to submit pricing.
- Participate in new project kickoff meetings to ensure project setup uses accounting software capabilities correctly and efficiently
- Develop, maintain, and analyze Estimates at Completion (EACs) for assigned projects, routinely review/update EACs in collaboration with Program Management, support Program Management in their preparation for monthly/quarterly project reviews
- Review project costs/revenue and generate cost/revenue accruals monthly; review monthly project invoices in accordance with internal and contract requirements; monitor/analyze actual project financials in comparison with budgeted, report on variances, and recommend improvements/corrections
- Monitor contract/subcontract funding, track unbilled project receivables, support Contracts with adhering to funding expenditure milestone requirements, identify at-risk funding situations and provide mitigation recommendations
- Review subcontractor/consultant invoices related to direct project support ensuring compliance with contract/subcontract/consulting agreement requirements
- Assists Program Management with annual budget preparation for direct budgets
- Additional duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for a degree
- 4+ years of experience in Project Finance/Accounting in a government contracting environment; includes EAC development and maintenance
- Must be able to provide comprehensive support and cohesively interface with, not only other members of the Finance and Accounting Team, but members of Program Management, Contracts, Recruiting, and Business Development as well.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage concurrent deliverables
- Working knowledge of different government contract types (Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, and Cost Reimbursable) is required
- Proficiency with Excel

CATHEXIS offers competitive compensation packages to all eligible employees. Our goal is to provide a compensation package that reflects the value you bring to our team, is competitive with market rates, and promotes your financial security and personal well-being. The annual salary range for this role is $95,000 - $125,000. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline. CATHEXIS considers various factors in its final offer, including location, qualifications, experience, and skills.
