Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager and Technical Leader to build a new team focused on Network Automation. This role is ideal for a technical leader who is adept at building teams from the ground up and has a strong foundation in network engineering, infrastructure as code, and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated managerial proficiency in a team lead or management role.

This role will report to the Director of IT Platform Engineering in a critical leadership role in the Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) department. The position will be instrumental in building a culture of pervasive automation and adoption of infrastructure-as-code principles across the wider I&O organization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of network automation strategies to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Build and manage a team of network automation engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate network automation solutions with overall IT and business strategies.
  • Design and oversee the deployment of scalable network infrastructure using the latest in cloud technologies and infrastructure as code principles.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in network automation and related technologies.
  • Develop and manage budget for network automation projects, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure access to the latest technologies and support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide regular reports on project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 10%.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 4+ years relevant IT leadership experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience in network engineering and building and leading technical teams.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in network automation, infrastructure as code, and cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Professional certifications in network engineering (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) or cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
