Job Description
The Physical Security Manager is responsible for developing, documenting, and implementing all aspects of a comprehensive physical security program including physical security technologies, risk assessment and remediation, regulatory requirements, threat management, emergency preparedness, executive protection, emergency response, life safety, guard force operation, federal interagency and local law enforcement liaison, visitor management, budget responsibilities, support counterintelligence/counterespionage operations, training, and drills for TEL US facilities. - Ability to design and successfully implement from the ground up the Corporate Physical security program for TEL's US facilities and create a security-awareness culture.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand the physical security risks at TEL and build effective, prioritized programs to mitigate these risks within assigned budget.
- Evaluate specific security issues/vulnerabilities at facilities and recommend, design, and implement effective security solutions for existing and new facilities.
- Proactively identify, develop, and implement additional security strategies to meet the unique needs of TEL business and perform various security inspections and audits as required.
- Conduct formal Threat and Vulnerability Assessments on TEL facilities; identify vulnerabilities and gaps in physical security posture; develop prioritized recommendations to mitigate risk; provide justification and support for recommended investment in additional physical security measures.
- Deliver physical security training and awareness programs to include armed aggressor response training, active shooter training, workplace violence prevention training, and other physical security topics as required and investigate physical security incidents.
- Establish a workplace violence situational assessment team and provide them as well as HR with support in the investigation of any concerning behavior, threats, or inappropriate communications that may indicate an elevated risk of workplace violence.
- Manage administrative tasks and drive efficiencies to create a financially sustainable security practice.
- Consult and make recommendations on the physical security systems and controls, including camera systems, badge access systems, visitor control systems, etc.
- Consult on best practices for administering access requests with HR and site management.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement and regional first responders.
- Assist site security leaders in developing the emergency response plan for a range of security incidents at the site; may serve as an additional point of contact in an emergency or critical circumstance.
- Assist in the creation, standardization, and implementation of policies and procedures to support global security programs.
- Collect and analyze appropriate metrics to measure aspects of physical security performance.
- Develop and employ a comprehensive, risk based, safety and security executive protection program in support of TEL's executive leadership to ensure they achieve their business objectives in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner.
- Support TEL's Counterintelligence/Counterespionage Program to safeguard organizational assets from external and internal threats by proactively monitoring, investigating, and mitigating espionage activities directed towards TEL and/or the company's interests.
- Mentor internal security members as well as hire and manage new team members as determined by business needs.
- Travel - 20% Domestic, 5% International
Must Haves (minimum qualifications):
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience.
- Master's degree in related field and 10 years of associated experience is preferred.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certifications are highly desirable.
- Ambitious and highly motivated individual who can work without direct oversight to meet the objectives of the position.
- Possess attention to detail and ability to effectively manage several concurrent issues.
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task, be highly organized, with excellent time management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of security systems, including intrusion detection alarms, access control, and video surveillance.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and online web-based services.
- Prior experience in any combination of military service, law enforcement, and corporate security.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate and train employees on various security topics.
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard. Benefits:
