Consolidated Water Power Co owns and operates five dams and (38) hydroelectric generators on the Wisconsin River. Beyond its renewable power generation portfolio, CWPCo serves as the regulated electric utility to both manufacturing sites, small industrial sites, and residential customers in its service territory. This position is in a Line of Progression and serves to provide relief for the CWPCo Dispatcher which is staffed on a 12-hour rotating shift.
Qualifications
Duties of the Job:
- Trains with Dispatcher to operate the Company's Hydro Generation equipment in a safe, efficient, and regulatory compliant manner.
- Trains with Dispatcher to monitor and operate the Company's sixteen substations and sixty miles of transmission lines.
- Routinely inspects CWPCo Hydro Generation Facilities and stays current with equipment upgrades and operating changes.
- Performs routine operational tasks at sites including housekeeping, raking racks, gate work, mowing etc.
- Perform monthly FERC inspections at each of our project sites.
- Inspects and monitors fire and security systems at all CWPCo facilities.
- Participates in training programs necessary to safely perform required work.
- Expected to respond to call-ins and work overtime as needed.
- Supports maintenance based upon training, skills, and abilities.
All other duties as assigned by Management or Working Leaders. This position has a line of progression, the successful bidder must progress as vacancies occur in the line to Relief Operator / Dispatcher.

OntheJob Requirements:
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform physical labor including field work such as manual gate operation, onsite Hydro Plant Operation, etc.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work without direct supervision.
- Ability to support teamwork among other employees; ability to work in a cooperative manner and coordinate equipment repairs with Electrical, Line and Millwright supervisors as well as Resources and Operations managers.
- Must be willing to work shiftwork with 12-hour shifts being standard.
- Ability to recognize unsafe conditions or conditions outside of job scope and request assistance.
- Must be familiar with FERC Emergency Action Plans for all Hydro Projects.
- Ability to read maps/follow roads and find customer locations in the field.
- Communication skills to effectively relate to Customers, Utilities, Maintenance and Operations groups.
- Must respond to call-ins and live within a 30-mile radius of this CWPCo office.
- Must carry a cell phone, radio and safety equipment as needed.
- Must be proficient at recordkeeping.
- Able to lift 70# and walk up to five miles daily.
