Overview
Department 454 Tactical Software Engineering applies software and computer engineering skills to specify, design, develop, and integrate software for US Navy Nuclear Submarines. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle is required for this position. EB is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the security design, implementation and testing of our software deliverables, and support our development labs. What you'll be doing
Interface closely with hardware, systems, software and test engineering departments
- Perform network configuration and maintenance for D454 software development enclaves & shipboard systems
- Apply STIGs to D454 software development enclaves
- Adjust system configurations as needed to solve development road blocks without compromising security or compliance
- Prepare presentations and participate in NAVSEA design reviews
- Tactical application administration
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain & maintain, a DoD Secret clearance with the potential for a DoD Top Secret
- experience in administering and managing networks
- Experience testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities
- Proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, Java, Python, Go, and Ruby
Preferred:
- COMPTIA Security+, Network+, CISSP, or CASP+ certified
- Experience in DevSecOps environments
- Understanding of computing environments, including virtualization, containerization, networks and protocols, identity access management, PKI, vulnerability assessment tools, etc.
- Familiarity with cyber security control families and their differences in application
- Familiarity with security control frameworks such as NIST 800-53
- Experience with Jira & Confluence
- Experience with Linux Operating System
- Experience with Bash scripting
- Knowledge in configuring Cisco and Arista switches (MLAG,trunking etc)
- Knowledge of Ansibile
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Candidate must be highly motivated, perform work independently, as well as interact with other groups and organizations in an engineering environment
