THE ROLE

The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Services Market Operations (VP RCS) works in collaboration with senior leadership to transform revenue cycle into a world-class operation at Providence, one of the largest and most innovative health companies in the United States. This executive provides input on the revenue cycle strategic plan and operational oversight for patient-facing functions including onsite registration, onsite financial counseling, onsite Medicaid screening and enrollment, point-of-service patient collections, and onsite customer service. This executive is responsible for creating a streamlined and technology-enabled patient experience and leads onsite teams who are broadly skilled at helping patients navigate the health system. This executive supports 49 hospitals across Washington, Montana, Oregon, California, Alaska, Texas and New Mexico.

The VP RCS must build solid and enduring relationships with internal customers, providing strategic consulting on revenue cycle matters to support growth and operational changes within PSJH hospitals. This executive continually seeks ways and means to innovate the delivery and support of revenue cycle activities, ensuring all business practices are maintained in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and aligned across the enterprise. This executive is accountable for achieving revenue cycle performance goals, financial targets and service-level and quality commitments, ensuring that key stakeholders are kept fully informed on performance and important factors influencing it. This executive maintains current knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements.

The VP RCS must be visionary, strategic, creative and customer-obsessed to advance revenue cycle operations. This executive must be a hands-on, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-moving, dynamic environment within a complex and evolving industry with a track record of successfully driving change in a large, highly matrixed organization

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Assists GVP RCS in building and executing on a comprehensive strategic plan to address short-term and long-term revenue cycle objectives with clear accountability metrics. The plan must be aligned with the mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of PSJH and distinguish revenue cycle from its competitors in the areas of operational excellence, innovation, and consumer experience.
  • Creates industry-leading and transformative patient experiences that exceed consumer expectations, resulting in improved patient satisfaction and net promoter scores.
  • Implements best practices to deliver revenue uplift and improve patient yield.
  • Drives organizational change and leverages data, analytics, and best-in-class technology to improve service delivery.
  • Stays abreast of and shares industry and consumer trends, including emerging technologies and patient preferences, ensuring that all revenue cycle policies and practices stay current and compliant with changing regulatory and payer requirements.
  • Develops annual operating and capital budget and related tactical initiatives to achieve budget for all areas under control, emphasizing stewardship of resources and cost management.
  • Operates with a strong metrics and data-driven approach and routinely meets or exceeds key performance targets, budget targets, quality and service-level commitments for all areas under control.
  • Effectively manages service delivery and performance of outsourced partner relationships for all areas under control.
  • Builds trust-based relationships and alignment with ministry leadership, providing strategic consulting on revenue cycle matters.
  • Communicates effectively and regularly with internal customers, ensuring that key stakeholders are kept fully informed on performance and important factors influencing it.
  • Attracts, develops and retains key talent while achieving a high level of morale. Continue to build a high- performing and highly accountable management team that works collaboratively to achieve business objectives.
  • Identifies and implements strategies and tactical initiatives to maximize workforce productivity and the use of automation.
  • Champions an environment of professionalism and service excellence that is inclusive and diverse. Accountable for caregivers' career growth, leadership development, job satisfaction, and engagement.
  • Represents PSJH by membership in professional associations.


QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related area of study or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience with 5 years in an executive role.
  • Leadership experience in a matrixed, multi-facility healthcare system.
  • Successful track record driving customer experience either within an industry going through digital or service transformation and/or within a matrixed, multi-facility healthcare system.
  • Understands data systems and underlying technology supporting customer service and/or revenue cycle.


Preferred experience/education for this position include:



  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related area of study.
