The Assembly Assistant Team Lead assists
team leader in leading a manufacturing team to meet production requirements.
This is a developmental role for team leader succession.

Our Assembly department in Belleville, IL is now looking for a Assembly Assistant Team Lead.

Key Tasks

ENSURES EFFICIENT FLOW OF VALVE &
INFLATE DEPARTMENT BY:
Managing work flow of products entering the valve
& inflate area; performing all required valve & inflate laborer and IFC
Operative job functions; developing work schedules; recommending appropriate
staffing levels; resolving issues and answering questions related to various
techniques, processes, work orders, or jobs; assisting with conduction root
cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions; ensuring all processes
comply with established standards; ensuring departmental issues are handled in
a timely manner; communicating effectively with team leader regarding both
positive and negative activities with product, equipment, or personnel.

Ensures quality product is
assembled by:
Performing all functions of the valve and inflate
department including gluing metal valve and hoses into cushion, inserting
grommets, snapping mattresses, inflating cushions, hanging the cushion on the
appropriate trolley line, placing stickers on the ISO Flow, using a hand held
brush and vacuum cleaner to remove debris from all assembled cushions prior to
valving and inflating, in absences; performing all IFC functions including assembling
the airflow (IFC) control valve components, inserting the IFC to the Quad
Select, applying the front and back housing with rivets and assemble the IFC,
O-ring, and knobs, checking spindle length.

MAINTAINS STAFF JOB RESULTS BY:
Handling responsibilities of the team leader in
his/her absence; developing and revising work instructions and standard
procedures; addressing employee conduct and rule infractions; participating in
employee discipline meetings if necessary.

Satisfies
training needs BY:
Training and orienting new
employees; identifying training needs; ensuring proper training is provided and
documented for all staff employees; participating in cross training efforts

Your Background

• Must
  be skill checked on all positions within the assigned department. Additionally,
  must be skill checked on all non-positional work instructions within the
  assigned department. Serves as back up to V&I Team Leader.
• Ability
  to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance
  instructions, and procedure manuals.
  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
  customers or employees of the organization.
• Basic
  personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity,
  word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Excellent time management skills; excellent
  communication skills; good math skills; ability to prioritize and organize knowledge of
  product; ability to work unsupervised; must be able to exercise independent
  judgment; must operate in a fair and consistent manner
