$25.13 to $27.64 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced paraprofessional work planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing all of the Human Resources-related operations and programs and processing all of the personnel actions for the Planning & Development Department. Work involves representing the department at job fairs and other recruiting events; coordinating the pre-employment process activities, including recruiting, reviewing employment applications, conducting required background investigations, and processing new employees; tracking of employee performance evaluations; coordinating mandatory training and career development for new and existing personnel; monitoring Leave of Absences (LOAs), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests, light duty assignments, and disability paperwork, documentation, and tracking; assisting with drafting and revising classification descriptions and career ladders; oversight for the department's post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing process; and serving as a liaison between the department the Office of Human Resources.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Management, or a closely related field PLUS five (5) years of experience in Human Resources or Personnel management. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to work irregular hours, planned and unplanned overtime, and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
