Ingram Marine Group is seeking a Mechanic to join our Convent, LA team. No day is the same in this role, you could be welding, performing inspections, trouble shooting, or repairing engines on crew boats, fixing hydraulic leaks on cranes, working on equipment inside of barges and a person that likes that kind of diversity is what we are looking for.

You will be responsible for repair and maintenance of Cranes, Crew boats and Equipment, including welding and mechanical repair. The role requires strong understanding of mechanical/hydraulic/electrical systems and welding techniques to ensure optimal condition and functionality of equipment.

What you will be doing:

  • Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on cranes, equipment and crew boats
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Fabricates repair parts
  • Maintains equipment and repair inventory
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assuring safe and efficient operations through compliance with Ingram's policies and principles, safety systems, and the company's code of ethics.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma/GED is required
  • 0-2 years relative experience; marine industry experience a plus
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Basic mechanical background and ability is expected.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Control down time
  • Diesel Engine Knowledge, Vessel Knowledge.
  • 80% of duties are on the water
