Under direct supervision of the Graduate Group Manager, and in collaboration with the Graduate Group Student Services team, administer the Master's program of a large and complex graduate group in the Department of Computer Science, including academic advising & counseling, graduate student events and outreach efforts. Provide administrative, and programmatic support for the M.S. Program. Responsible for providing comprehensive and complex academic advising for M.S. students; communicating and maintaining policies and procedures that ensure compliance with Graduate Studies rules, regulations and deadlines. Responsible for implementing Graduate Group events and activities, not limited to seminars/workshops, recruitment & admissions, outreach, and socials. Provide advice and guidance to diverse students, faculty, staff, alumni, applicants, and the general public regarding the Graduate Group Master's program. Act as a source of information and communication for Master's program current students and prospective applicants. As part of the Computer Science Student Services team, collaboratively participate in a team-based approach to student services and provide expertise and assistance in graduate services and other programmatic areas related to the Master's degree program. Key Responsibilities * 55% - Advising and Counseling Department Overview The Department of Computer Science is a large complex research unit, one of eight academic departments in the College of Engineering, and provides instruction and research within specialty areas of engineering. The Department has 43 faculty, 9 emeriti, 3 adjunct professors, 3 technical IT Support staff, and 14 administrative staff. The Graduate Group of Computer Science administers three graduate programs: B.S.-to-M.S, M.S. and Ph.D. with approximately 500+ graduate students and supports nearly 100 graduate group faculty. Faculty in the Graduate Group of Computer Science have primary appointments in multiple disciplines including Engineering, School of Medicine, Graduate School of Management, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Physics, Math, Sociology, to name a few. The Undergraduate program has over 1300 students within 2 programs (CS and CSE). The Graduate Group receives funding in excess of $4M, the Department Operational budget is in excess of $3M, and the faculty expenditures averages ~$6M. Computer Science has a large undergraduate student service component. CS teaches over 13,000 students per year (over 54,000 SCH) with students from various programs across campus.
