Feb 14, 2025

The Savannah River National Laboratory Office of General Counsel ("OGC") is seeking a summer law clerk from May through August in Aiken, South Carolina. The summer law clerk position is available for Summer 2025.

The Laboratory is one of seventeen world-class research and development centers funded by the Department of Energy. We put science to work, especially in the key areas of environmental sustainability, nuclear security, and energy resilience. The Office of General Counsel provides legal support and guidance to the Lab across multiple practice areas, including employment law, intellectual property law, government contracts, litigation, environmental law, and more.

For a law clerk, no two days are the same, but you will experience time meeting with some of the Lab's roughly 1,500 employees, drafting documents, completing research assignments, identifying legal issues for sophisticated research and development projects, and more. If you'd like to get experience across several types of law while also helping solve some of the country's biggest challenges, this is the position for you.

You'll also engage with graduate and undergraduate students from around the United States who spend the summer experiencing our culture of innovation and scientific discovery.

This position is full time and paid, for up to 12 weeks. It is only available to law school students. All applicants must be a 1L or 2L at an accredited law school.
