Engineering Technician VI

Overview

SCCI is seeking an Engineering Tech VI with Mechanical Design, Database Design and Development skills to join our team! In this position you will design, create, and maintain databases for an array of information management web applications. This position is available for immediate hire and located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

In this capacity the individual would work closely with the Hardware Engineering teams and Hardware Test teams to address areas which may include but are not limited to the following objectives and responsibilities:

• Developing and managing front-end software applications
• Writing and implementing software programming components and applications (Vb.net, Solidworks, etc.)
• Designing database tables and structures based on business process requirements
• Creating views, functions and stored procedures
• Writing optimized SQL queries to support data retrieval, transformation, and integration with other applications
• Creating database triggers for use in automation
• Maintaining data quality and overseeing database security

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
• High School diploma
• Fifteen (15) years of experience in applying engineering services to maritime, launcher, missile, manned, unmanned, robotic, weapon, or weapon control system components and assemblies. This experience includes developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance, and assisting engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data
• Five (5) years technical experience with information management
• Experience creating databases with efficient structures (educational experience applies)
• Demonstrated skills in writing optimized queries, views and triggers for integration with other applications
• Three (3) years of Solidworks PDM design experience
• Must have experience working with configuration management process such as notice of revisions, engineering change notices, notice of revision, etc.
• Excellent communications skills to work in a team environment
• Understanding of the standards of data quality and integrity
• Experience in designing and implementing controls for data access

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Active Top secret Clearance or Active Secret Security Clearance with SSBI
• Reporting and business intelligence tools like Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
• Working in an Agile Framework for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
