The University of Arizona Department of Linguistics in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is seeking to fill a tenure track faculty position in Iranian linguistics at the Assistant Professor level beginning in 2025. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in any subfield of linguistics, with a strong specialization in Iranian linguistics specifically. This is an endowed position, the Elahe Omidyar Mir-Djalali Professorship in Iranian Linguistics, and based on the requirements of the endowment, the applicant must be a native or near native speaker of Persian (Farsi, Dari, Tajiki). The successful applicant will teach courses in the Department of Linguistics, conduct research, and engage in service and outreach activities. Engagement with the Graduate Program in Persian and Iranian Studies is also desirable.
