ABOUT THE JOB

* Entering, updating and/or tracking of inbound and outbound orders and shipments

* Coordination of pickups/deliveries

* Choose low-cost mode and carrier following specific routing instructions and/or routing guides

* Acting as a liaison between Transportation Operations, carriers, customers, and Shareholders

* Daily interaction with internal, carrier and customer personnel is required

* Develops Daily and Weekly Load Plans

* Monitors Execution of Load Plans in Operations

* Communicates Plans and Results to Transportation Manager

* Work experience with ERP systems such as JDE or SAP is preferred

* Processing of freight charges not part of the original shipment

* Ensuring accuracy of freight rates in JD Edwards vs. dispatch

* Correctly communicating existing rates with approved carriers

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have a high school education or equivalent with up to 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation function. The ability to effectively communicate or demonstrate computer skills using JD Edwards or similar ERP software systems is essential to this position. Should have the ability to demonstrate computer skills using Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel or other related spread sheet software. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of basic math with efficient and accurate data entry skills. Good organizational, multi-tasking, analytical, and time management skills. Self-starter that is able to work independently. Must have ability to demonstrate outgoing, personable, and proactive communication skills.
