Job Duties |
Reporting to the Head Football Coach and the Special Teams Coordinator, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Assist Special Teams Coordinator with all duties for practice and game plan preparation.
- Complete breakdowns of opponents to be completed a week ahead of time.
- Coordinate video cutups of all opponents' special teams film.
- Assist Special Teams Coordinator with all distribution of special teams game plans.
- Responsible for drawing special teams scout team looks ("cards").
- Responsible for the special teams schedules and scripts.
- Responsible for off season future opponent breakdown and cutups.
- Responsible for various elements of special teams quality control.
- Responsible for editing special teams playbook using
DVS or
XOS.
- Responsible for construction and distribution of special teams spring playbooks.
- Misc. tasks as assigned by head coach and special teams staff.
- Responsible for construction and distribution of special teams grades and play counts.
- Assist Special Teams Coordinator with the administration of practice scripts.
- Provide statistical breakdowns for special teams coaches.
- Assist with recruiting and closing packets as assigned.
- Post-game clip videos and power points.
- Communicate needs from special teams coaches to video staff.
- Communicate needs from special teams coaches to the equipment staff
- Work with recruiting staff to evaluate Junior College prospects and transfers.
- Work with academic evaluations for the Juco and transfer players.
- Communicate and provide the Head Coach with Daily Practice Schedules.
- Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, Athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders.
- Abide by all written policies and procedures of
ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (
NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
- Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and travel are required in the performance of duties. |
Minimum Education/Experience |
Bachelor's degree required.
At least one year football coaching or playing experience required.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire. |
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation |

Collegiate coaching experience is preferred. |
