What you will do

The Permits Coordinator collaborates with the local fire planner to review Fire Alarm and Access Control jobs, preparing them for submission to various cities in North Texas.

How you will do it

  • If revisions are needed, the coordinator works with the planner team to make the necessary changes.
  • Once the permit is approved, the coordinator works with the installation team to ensure the permit is ready for the job's commencement.
  • A Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects and operations. Here are some key responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Organization: Coordinators help outline permit project steps and understand deadlines.
  • Communication: They serve as the primary point of contact for teams, providing guidance and resolving issues to keep projects on track.
  • Monitoring Progress: Coordinators track the progress of permitted projects, ensuring that timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Other duties as needed by the business

What we look for

Required

  • High school diploma. Two-year degree or trade school preferred.
  • 2+ years handling permitting for security and fire systems, preferred in the constructions business.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to read and understand Security systems such as Burglar Alarms, CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm Specifications.
  • Be up to date on all NFPA, local Codes, and permits.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Has the ability to work independently.
  • Be a team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to work Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Have active driver license
