Why this job matters:

The team is seeking an intern to assist in efforts to advance organizational social responsibility initiatives, programming and events. In this position, you will work closely with BCBSRI's culture ambassadors - Employee Business Resource Groups and various councils, to help coordinate and support ongoing events and initiatives, as well as daily administrative support.

What you will do:



  • Gain experience to all facets of corporate social responsibility, while supporting department operations
  • Attend department and committee meetings as related to the work
  • Assist team with event logistics, from ideation to planning and execution
  • Represent BCBSRI at community-based events in a professional manner
  • Assist with researching market trends and best practices in the evolving field of corporate social responsibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • A passion for employee engagement, social impact, content creation, program development


  • Project management skills
  • Written and verbal communications skills
  • Time management skills
  • Strong PC-based/software skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to collect and organize data
  • Ability to work well independently and in groups
  • Ability to meet established time and quality standards
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment

Location:

BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:



  • In-office: onsite 5 days per week
  • Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
  • Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
