Requirements and Preferences


Work Schedule 30 hours per week. Daily 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a midday break on Mondays and Wednesdays required through May.
Other Work/Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to:
Prepare and teach student laboratories related to microbiology
Maintain all safety standards necessary for student lab exercises
Maintain teaching and shared lab equipment used for experiments in microbiology
Generally assist the BME Laboratory Manager as needed
Organize and prepare materials and reagents for teaching laboratories
Train and supervise teaching assistants
Grade student materials
Dispose of unwanted chemical and biological materials (waste) from teaching and
shared labs following NC State regulations
Minimum Experience/Education
BS in biology or related field and experience with microbiology
Department Required Skills
Experience with microbiology
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
MS in biology or related field and teaching experience. This is a good
opportunity for recent graduates
