Role and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Mess Attendant Supervisor to join our team! In this hands-on role, you'll assist and support the mess attendant team and ensure that daily operations are running efficiently, enforce safety and cleanliness standards.



  • Supervise and manage a team of mess attendants, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and follow military standards in the galley.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces, in line with military health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor food inventory and ensure stock levels are maintained; assist with ordering supplies and organizing storage.
  • Enforce safety protocols regarding food handling, hygiene, and equipment use to prevent accidents and contamination.
  • Assist with dishwashing when necessary to support the team and maintain smooth operations during busy periods.
  • Handle staff scheduling, ensuring there are enough hands on deck during meal times, including peak hours.
  • Resolve issues related to guest or personnel complaints about cleanliness and services.
  • Track and report on the performance of your team, providing feedback and addressing any training needs or performance issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation regarding food safety, cleanliness, and meal reports.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of (2) years of food service, Galley worker, or mess attendant experience (Preferred)
  • Minimum of (1) year of team lead or supervisory experience (Preferred)
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License


Preferred skills:



  • Strong organizational skills to handle scheduling, inventory management, and meal planning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak meal times.
  • Strong communication skills to work closely with military personnel and fellow staff.


Environmental and Physical Demands:



  • Exposure to high temperatures due to kitchen equipment, ovens, and food preparation areas.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking during shifts, especially during peak meal times.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy objects such as food supplies, cooking equipment, or large containers
  • Repetitive motion from tasks like dishwashing, food preparation, and cleaning.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with multiple kitchen appliances and personnel.
  • Handling cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents for maintaining galley cleanliness.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks during peak meal times with tight deadlines.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions if working in outdoor dining or food service areas.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while managing a team in a high-stress environment.
