Job Objective: Managing the daily operations of the Warehouse to create a world class distribution operation for Velcro USA Inc. which maximizes customer service, while minimizing costs. Essential Job Functions:
Lead and directs site warehousing/distribution operations. Provide leadership and guidance to the team on a daily basis. Monitors and drives continuous improvement; creates standard work, best practices and goals that align with Strategy Deployment and Organizational Mission. Ability to assist with and lead part of complex logistical projects as business conditions change as well as footprint consolidations and investments. Develop, coordinate, and manage distribution operations, information systems, procedures, and growth of team members. Ensure inventory is properly stored, recorded, and rotated. Ensure all shipments contain correct product, correct address and required documentation, correct routing, and assure that shipments are on time. Manage team functions that includes material movement, shipping, and receiving. Develop plans to cross-train roles in order to provide flexibility and coverage. Coordinate and execute plans to facilitate shipments to customers on a daily basis and collects data to drive problem solving and improvement. Run order management process and daily standup review in the warehouse; ensure the warehouse staff understands the daily plan to fulfill customer requirements. Hold monthly business reviews with Team on performance and conduct individual quarterly meetings to review performance. Promote safety and enforce procedural work methods and safe practices among staff. Complete incident reports for any work-related Injuries or incidents. Participate in the investigation/corrective action process when applicable. Evaluate day-to-day scenarios and make decisions that will maximize productivity and minimize poor quality. Maintain all source documents, procedures. and complete required paperwork. Oversee scheduling of department staff. Ensure accurate and timely recording and approval of hours for staff (including but not limited to work schedules, hours worked, absences, and leave of absence requests/paperwork). Coordinate appropriate workforce coverage to ensure workloads and deadlines are met for customer satisfaction. Work with manager to develop and implement capacity analysis for warehouse functions including spatial planning, storage options, material handling, staffing, and process flow for existing and new operations. Maintain overall housekeeping that is consistent with 5S practices. Other duties may be assigned or required for the performance of this position.
Job Qualifications:
Three to five years Distribution/Warehouse experience, with a minimum of three years in a leadership role. Bachelor's Degree in business or related discipline is highly desired. Excellent leadership characteristics; ability to coordinate resources, motivate staff and successfully accomplish goals and objectives. Good communication skills; able to communicate with all levels of the organization. Good administrative skills; able to use computers and e-mail. Good organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities involving all applicable aspects of department operations. Good decision making skills; able to use sound judgment in department decisions, administrative actions and emergency situations. Able to read and interpret written instructions and verbal instructions. Familiarity with Powered Industrial Trucks is a plus. Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus. Able to maintain and/or exceed work standards which will be reviewed at regular intervals.
