Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:
The Strategic Enrollment and Student Success (
SESS) unit is dedicated to recruiting, retaining, supporting, and graduating students efficiently and effectively, in alignment with the goals set forth by the university's strategic plan. This office seeks to attract and enroll a highly academic class of new and continuing students with outstanding ability and potential to address the challenges and opportunities presented by a rapidly changing society.
Fayetteville State University Learning Center, located on Fort Liberty, is a centralized space for active-duty service members, dependents, veterans, and Department of Defense civilians to access student services to strengthen their ability to navigate Fayetteville State University. The goal of the Fayetteville State University Learning Center is to enhance the student experience by offering hands-on assistance with the application process, financial aid, military tuition assistance, academic advising, course registration, degree planning, making payments,
JST evaluation, Green to Gold program,
MYCAA,
AECP programs, and navigating university resources. |
Description of Work Continued: |
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the
FSU at Fort Liberty Office, providing high-quality customer service to service members (active, guard, and reserve), veterans, dependents, and DoD civilians. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to effectively learn and convey
FSU policies and procedures. The role involves assisting with application inquiries, clerical duties, event coordination, and maintaining informational materials. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: |
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
Knowledge skills and abilities: |
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Ability to perform with a team or individuallt.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with the ability to learn new or updated software.
- Self-motivated, punctual, and adaptable.
- Friendly and helpful.
- Excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Associate's degree.
Two years of higher education experience.
One year of student services (admissions, advising). |
