LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND AGING (DDA), MIDDLE TENNESSEE COMMUNITY HOMES DIVISION, DAVIDSON COUNTY This position requires a criminal background check. Qualifications Education and Experience: Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school. Substitution of Education for Experience: None. Substitution of Experience for Education: None. Necessary Special Qualifications: A valid vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions. Examination Method: Noncompetitive selection for Preferred Services positions. Overview Summary: Under immediate supervision, performs behavior therapy specialist work of average difficulty; and performs related work as required. Distinguishing Features: This is the working level class in the Behavior Therapy Specialist sub-series. An incumbent in this classification provides daily living care and behavioral support to individuals residing at the Harold Jordan Center or its assigned transitional home(s). An incumbent in this class may be assigned to workdays, nights, and weekends. This class differs from Behavior Therapy Specialist Supervisor in that an incumbent of the latter is responsible for supervising Behavior Therapy Specialists on an assigned shift. Responsibilities 1. Engages persons supported with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in daily living and recreational activities of persons supported; provides assistance with activities as needed.
