Executive Service FIRE PREVENTION GEOSPATIAL ANALYST DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND INSURANCE FIRE PREVENTION NASHVILLE, TN Monthly Salary: $4,517.00 Closing Date: 03/03/2025Who we are and what we do: The Division of Fire Prevention, also known as the Tennessee State Fire Marshal's Office (SFMO), is a part of the Department of Commerce and Insurance. The SFMO has seven sections that are committed to protecting the safety of Tennesseans and their property from loss by fire through: education, codes enforcement, inspection, and regulation. The SFMO oversees the processing of over twenty types of permits, licenses, and certificates. The SFMO interacts with the public, state and local elected officials, the fire service, and many regulated industries daily. How you make a difference in this role: Through the analysis and management of geographic information system (GIS) software and data related to the fire service in the State of Tennessee. This position is highly visible and frequently interacts with the public and officials within the fire service. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/or specialized training, experience equivalent to three (3) years of full-time professional geospatial data analysis and (GIS) experience preferred. Proficiency in the use of applications such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and PostGIS helpful.
