Collections Specialist

A Collection Specialist at SET Environmental is responsible to:

• Review customer accounts, call customers, and log all correspondence
• Send out statements and re-submit invoices via e-mail
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
• Verify discrepancies and resolve client's billing issues or escalate for resolution
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Generate financial reports detailing accounts receivable status
• Review credit application and provide analysis to manager to determine customer credit
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness and professionalism
• Perform various administrative functions
• Maintain customer file with accurate Accounts Receivable contact information
• Enter payment journals for adjustments
• Provide training and mentoring to other staff members
• Maintain confidentiality
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent, AA Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
• 5-7 years of Accounts Receivable, Collections, and/or Accounts Payable experience
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat)
• Experience working with an ERP system, Great Plains experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all department levels
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and be a team player
