The Department of Pathology is recruiting for a temporary Phlebotomy Technician I for our Outpatient Phlebotomy Service. This position will perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Anticipated hours will be Monday - Friday, rotating between 0700-1800. Position Responsibilities: * Performs phlebotomy draws. * Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required. * Orders, receives, and distributes supplies. * Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas. Minimum Eligibility Requirements High school graduation or equivalent Desirable Qualifications Previous public contact/customer service experience Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience Previous experience performing phlebotomy in a neonatal and/or pediatric setting is highly desired. Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting Basic computer skills Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment Previous patient contact experience |
