Research Assistant

The University of Iowa College of Nursing is seeking a Research Assistant to join Dr. Yamnia Cortes's research team to develop a virtual menopause education intervention for midlife Latinas in English and Spanish. This project will apply a human-centered design approach and community engagement strategies to enhance health of women at midlife and beyond.

This position requires a commitment until May 31, 2025, and has the possibility to be extended based on performance and availability of funding. It is an hourly position with up to 10 hours a week.The hourly salary will be between $23.00-$30.00 per hour.This individual hired in this position should not exceed 40 hours a week for all University of Iowa positions while in this position.

Key Areas of Responsibilities: Recruitment and enrollment
Conduct focus groups/data collection
IRM submissions
Working on paper drafts

General Duties:
Recruitment and enrollment
Conduct focus groups/data collection
IRB submissions (another one similar below)
Paper drafts (another one similar below)
Review and translate study materials
Virtual recruitment and enrollment
Collect data for research
Propose modifications to protocols and assist in design of research protocols
Maintain IRB reports
Assist with grant writing and dissemination

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Able to fluently read, write, and speak Spanish
At least 1 year of prior research experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and attention to detail

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in education or teaching role
Experience with virtual interventions
