Georgia-Pacific Consumer Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Converting Technical Leader role supporting the Consumer Products Group Operations located in Zachary, LA. The Port Hudson facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue and paper towel products in a progressive production environment.

The Converting Technical Leader at Georgia-Pacific typically plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the converting processes within the manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

* Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
* Lead and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality in converting operations
* Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and reduce waste
* Provide technical guidance and support to the converting team, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues
* Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure optimal machine performance
* Lead and mentor a team of technicians and operators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety
* Conduct training sessions to enhance the skill set of the team
* Oversee projects related to new equipment installation, upgrades, and process optimization
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project completion.
* Monitor product quality standards and implement corrective actions to address deviations
* Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations
* Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
* Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and drive performance

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Several years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in paper or converting
* Knowledge of paper manufacturing processes, equipment and industry standards
* Strong understanding of converting processes, equipment, and technologies
* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical and operational issues effectively
* Deep understanding of safety protocols and commitment to promoting a safe work environment
* Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills

What Will Put You Ahead

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
* Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects
* Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvements initiatives
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
