[1] Georgia-Pacific is seeking a self-motivated and driven Safety Leader to join our Savannah River Mill team in Rincon, GA. In a progressive production environment, the Savannah River Mill facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue, towels, and napkin paper products. Working under the direction of the mill Safety Manager, the Safety Leader will focus on the mill's Emergency Preparedness and Response and provide leadership and strategic direction for the facility by applying the business framework and Principles. This position creates long-term value for the organization by ensuring risk is aggressively identified and mitigated. This position focuses on managing and optimizing the emergency preparedness and response program, the fire protection systems across the mill, facility security, and supporting the Safety Team by effectively integrating health and safety management systems. What You Will Do * Champion all emergency response team training for multidisciplinary team (HAZMAT, Emergency Medical, Confined Space-High Angle Rescue, and Incident Command) * Support the Mill in achieving its Vision of Zero Significant Events * Manage the continuous improvement, implementation, and sustainability of emergency response programs * Coordinate the inspection, testing, and maintenance of emergency response equipment as well as fire protections systems and equipment * Provide leadership and direction to achieve the safety and health vision through leveraging Safety and Health management systems * Support the process safety and chemical process safety programs from an Emergency Response perspective * Assist project teams in planning safety and emergency response into upcoming projects and activities * Maintain and ensure compliance with GP Compliance Standards, OSHA, NFPA, and other safety regulations with both GP employees, contractors, and sub-contractors * Participate in Incident Investigations, applying Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) concepts, and ultimately focusing on higher order controls * Prepare and deliver safety training as needed * Contribute to the overall Safety of the mill by serving as a compliance standard owner (CSO) for areas as assigned * Manage facility Safety for assigned areas and complete other duties as assigned Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or Fire Science Technology OR Four (4) or more years of experience in an Emergency Response role * Experience managing multi-discipline emergency response teams (HAZMAT, Interior, Emergency Medical, Confined Space-High Angle Rescue, and Incident Command) * Knowledge of NFPA requirements for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment What Will Put You Ahead * Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic Certification * Experience and knowledge of PSM covered processes * Experience in heavy manufacturing and/or chemical processes in a pulp and paper and/or oil and gas facility * Experience in managing injuries and illnesses * Experience developing regulatory compliance programs and training * Certified Trainer for ERT Program * Experience in OSHA Compliance programs At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
