The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for many different aspects of corporate accounting including tax, financial reporting, technical research, and cash-flow analysis

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Regularly execute both predicted and ad-hoc project-oriented assignments.
  • Review and coach the work of other tax accountants in the department.
  • Reconcile, verify, and review monthly sales and use tax returns.
  • Become the resident expert on sales and use tax law and exemption certificate requirements.
  • Research federal, state, and local laws and regulations and proactively monitor legislative changes.
  • Address state and federal tax notices and tax audits with various external auditors, tax advisors, and governmental agencies.
  • Provide support for the preparation of the federal and state corporate income tax returns.
  • Prepare the federal and state income tax estimated tax payments and extensions.
  • Gather and prepare documentation related to the company's income tax provision.
  • Prepare journal entries related to tax as a part of month end close.
  • Manage all property tax payments and serve as primary contact for property tax matters



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • Bachelors' Degree in Accounting; or 3-5 years in an accountant role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting, ad valorem tax knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
