Position Summary
This position is responsible for endpoint management, troubleshooting, compliance auditing, and setting technology hardware standards for the Terry College of Business. This position reports to the Tier 2 manager and will work together to provide excellent customer service, resolve highly complex issues, design and implement large scale end user computing and classroom technology projects. This position will be resourceful in solving complex problems with unknown solutions. A problem-solving attitude is critical, with an ability to motivate direct reports, managers, peers, and student workers within the OIT organization. This position will work closely with Terry's Tier 1 Solutions Center, OIT Infrastructure, and Facilities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Active Directory and group policy, wired and wireless network technology and troubleshooting, standard applications utilized on these platforms including installation, functionality, and troubleshooting, standardization practices including computer imaging, software packaging and network distribution of software.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern computing hardware and components such as offerings by Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and Apple.
  • Understand computational requirements between software and hardware to offer appropriate solutions to clients.
  • Extensive experience with endpoint management software such as Intune.
  • Functional knowledge of endpoint security best practices and implementations to meet USG standards.
  • Functional knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
  • Functional knowledge of AV systems design, digital projectors, and web conferencing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communications skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Duties/Responsibilities
Support Tier 2's responsibilities to faculty, staff, and classroom IT support requests and resolution of new and unknown problems.

  • Conduct root cause analysis on new and unknown problems.
  • Develop workarounds or permanent solutions for problems.
  • Develop documentation for resolved problems and train the Tier 1 team on how to respond to future incidents of this kind.
  • Manage imaging processes for new and reassigned end-user computing devices.
  • Manage software packaging and distribution processes.
  • Administrate Enterprise Endpoint Software including InTune.
  • Migrate all Endpoint Software to InTune including Avanti and JAMF.
  • Respond to technical emergencies as needed.

Responsible for functional success of endpoints regarding imaging, utility, and implementation in response to faculty, staff, and classroom IT demands.

  • Lead compliance manager for endpoint security.
  • Maintain and set image standards across Windows and Apple Devices.
  • Optimize intake, imaging, and deployment processes.
  • Maintain and deploy applications through Intune's company portal.

Responsible for setting computational standards, minimums, and maintaining vendor relations for procurement.
* Maintain current standards for equipment ordered to meet college requirements.
* Communicate with vendors to maintain punchout options and discounts.
* Assist in orders involving complex machines outside the scope of punchout options or Tier 1.
