About the Internship

We are looking for a highly motivated HR Intern who is enthusiastic and interested to learn about a variety of HR areas such as recruiting, benefits, compensation, compliance, communications, and employee relations.

Our HR internship is geared towards college students who are driven and excited about gaining a foundation in a variety of HR related areas by working closely with the members of the Corporate HR department management team. In return, the HR Intern will receive hands-on exposure to the inner workings of an HR department.

This internship is onsite in New Castle, PA and is designed to be both educational and practical. The HR intern will learn how to take skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting. The goal is for the intern to gain a better understanding of HR's role and to be better prepared to work in HR.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The HR Intern will support the HR Department and learn the practical application of, and be responsible for, the following functions including but not limited to:



  • Coordinate summer intern program events, including tours, group project and social event;
  • Be a liaison with career services and student led organizations to build stronger campus partnerships;
  • Work with members of the Corporate HR team assisting completion of HR related projects, and
  • Be exposed to and handle confidential information.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Completed at least 1 year of entry level related courses in HR, Business or related field;
  • Rising college junior with 6 months of experience including other internships is preferred;
  • Analytical and forward thinker who can work independently and deliver results;
  • Possess a natural curiosity with a mindset that finding creative solutions is fun;
  • Drive to succeed by completing projects in order to meet or exceed expectations;
  • Possess strong time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Highly organized; results and detail-oriented;
  • Be a collaborative team player who is responsive and takes initiative;
  • Work in, and contribute to, a positive team environment;
  • Motivated by a fast-paced environment to flex and embrace change with a can-do attitude;
  • Possess a professional demeanor;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Experience in event planning and/or project management is preferred;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Products including Word, Excel and Outlook; and
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level.
