POSITION OVERVIEW: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Interview, select, motivate, lead and develop a team of professionals that support the Multi Modal network and operations performance Develop transportation solutions that support the FedEx enterprise and position FedEx Freight to penetrate strategic markets Manage resources to achieve all productivity and service metrics for Multimodal function focusing on continuous improvement Manage and lead coordination Cross OpCo to optimize daily drayage activity and utilize the synergies that exist between OpCo's on longer-term initiatives Effectively coordinate with carriers/ramps and Cross Opco non rail hub locations impacting Multimodal Direct development of Field Communications and education as it pertains to Multimodal functions Develop relationship with operations, provide guidelines to manage equipment pools Execute tactical plans, review alternative options and select most effective and cost-efficient method to achieve goals in the Multi Modal operations Develop and manage relationships with Drayage carriers and rail carriers to ensure performance expectations and execution are met Collaborate with functional groups and operating companies to ensure strategic planning objectives and targets are met throughout the organization Provide leadership in coordination with Network Engineering and operations to identify and coordinate proper equipment utilization and type that achieves savings while maintaining on-time service performance goals Support the development and implementation of industry differentiating technology for our internal operations employees, third party vendors and consumers Ensure utilization of best practices and standards and ensure compliance of organizational policies, audit requirements and guidelines Instill a Quality Culture through the education and implementation of QDM Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Perform other duties as required Disclaimer: This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.
