Position Summary
The Circulation Department at Davis Library develops and implements services that connect users to experts, collections, technology, and spaces within the Davis Library and the campus library system.

Reporting to the Public Services Manager, the Access Services Associate & Saturday Supervisor facilitates the use of Davis Library and is one of two supervisors on Saturdays. This position interacts with a broad range of patrons, including UNC-CH faculty, staff, and students, in addition to community members. They support users primarily at Davis Library, performing circulation functions, interpreting policies, troubleshooting electronic resources, printers, and scanners, and providing frontlines reference assistance. This position supervises the Davis Service Desk daily and may support additional library sites as needed.

The Access Services Associate & Saturday Supervisor also manages the use of graduate and faculty studies in Davis Library. This position receives and processes carrel applications, assigns carrels equitably, oversees carrel renewals, and the carrel charged books renewal process. This position works with library colleagues to market the carrel service to campus constituents and with colleagues in Davis Circulation to establish best practices and to streamline workflows.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Demonstrated experience providing strong customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic educational setting.
* Demonstrated experience locating and analyzing data contained in complex online systems, such as scholarly databases, online catalogs, or financial systems.
* Demonstrated experience communicating clearly, while explaining policies and delivering public service support.
* Demonstrated attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Familiarity with the services, spaces, technology, and collections provided in a modern academic library.
* Working knowledge of library systems (ex. ILLiad, Sierra) or automated circulation system.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
